When We Wore Our Art
When I was 21, a girlfriend gave me my first real leather jacket (she had money, I didn't). It's hanging in my closet down the hall --- Crass logo spray painted on the back and a phalanx of buttons (Germs, X, GBH, etc) on the lapels. Being a designer, my jacket is kinda slick, but I love the folk roughness of these. Too bad alt-fashion bullshit is so boring today in comparison.

OntFront Spring/Summer 2010 Collection Tonight is the Knight
OntFront has been making “bold sophisicated armor” for men for years now, but their Spring/Summer 2010 Collection Tonight is the Knight takes that idea to a whole new level. Bronzed models hit the runway in the line of chess-inspired clothing (and some flashy gauntlets to boot!). The chesspiece/chessboard motif showed up on a number of T-shirts, jackets, and sweaters. The main hues included cream, gold, black, and gray-brown. Many pieces feature angular detail on the shoulders which emphasizes the masculine edge of the line.
Chess-inspired fashion for next season? Well, personally I think that's a must!
C'mon! Tonight's the Knight? Thats bordering on the Harder'esque.

Fascinating images and features. Well worth a read.
