AAKASH NIHALANI

post_5416-450x304.jpg

Inspired by New York City’s “unexpected contours” and “elegant geometry,” street artist Aakash Nihalani uses brightly-colored sticker tape to highlight unlikely urban beauty in his work.

“We all need the opportunity to see the city more playfully, as a world dominated by the interplay of very basic color and shape.”

post_5171-450x326.jpg

Alternately passionate and playful, outraged and absurd, the artwork of Josh Keyes is memorable both for its resonant imagery and the haunting themes those images convey.

In short, his work is amazing.

I discovered this painter this morning and she is making my day. Happy, primitive, colorful, but neutral - check out her portfolio and enjoy her Picasso-esque, yet totally unique, perspective.

Yahoo's 15th Birthday with Collabo Arts

post_5091-450x243.jpg

Three very influential artists in my life time for sure, just love the final collaboration. It's not new but work a revisit if you haven't seen it.
----
In celebration of its 15th birthday, Yahoo! in conjunction with Collabo Arts, commissioned three renowned artists - Damon Soule, Mars-1, and David Choong Lee - to paint on a 4-panel, 16 × 7 canvas, their interpretation of how Yahoo! and the Internet have changed the world-and how it will continue to do so.

TaxCut Money Collage

post_4939-450x299.jpg
I have been destroying currency for my work for the past two years. As a professional artist, I deduct my material expenditures as a write off. If I slice up a hundred dollars to make an image, or a thousand, or just five, I am taking it out of the IRS coffers. Imaging the weaponry that I’m not buying with those dollars is a reminder for me that a little creativity can be quite empowering.

Great idea, great execution.
