post_4442-450x308.jpg

Veteran of the design community, Justin Fox just let me know that Visual Response is back up and running. Will this be a revival of the scene or just a throwback? Only time will tell.

Favourite website awards. Web Awards recognising the very best in cutting edge website design.

FWA gets a new look, and its quite spectacular. They should get a FWA for their own site :)

Locus OS Interface

This project has no association with Microsoft. The project was originally intended for the Microsoft Next Gen Computer competition in 2008. Hence I also looked at the project from a branding perspective and how a product like this might become Microsoft's key arm along with Surface etc.
Location-based operating system
Multiple widget desktops designed around a location or activity ie Kitchen, Office, Car
Automatically switches between desktops with GPS and wi-fi mapping

Designed for Stream adaptive computer system: http://www.behance.net/Gallery/Stream/191676

Note: This interface was designed before iPhone 3.0, Palm Pre, Android etc, making the ideas original at the time :)

post_4291-450x313.jpg

After "watching my wife surf to the same four websites over and over," KNI designer extraordinaire Daniel Box decided he needed to create Fav4.org --- 'A simple website to set as your browser's default homepage featuring links to 4 of your favorite websites.' Slick super easy UI for configuration and a nice, peaceful, zen start to your browsing day. Lovely.
